Fucking with Twitter.
Okay, now, Elon is getting sued by Twitter shareholders for the delay over his stake disclosure.
I know I said I would not talk about Elon Musk anymore, but sorry, I have a conspiracy theory: Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey were in on it together to get back at Twitter shareholders.
In March of 2020, Elliott Management, with their 5% stake in Twitter, attempted to remove Jack as CEO, as they argued he was spreading himself too thin by leading both Twitter & Square. Elon came to Jack's defence tweeting: "Just want say that I support @Jack as Twitter CEO. He has a good ♥️."
Even though Jack was not immediately ousted, it is fair to say that it had a part to play in wearing him down until he left. So I think this whole tug-of-war could be an elaborate plot to make Twitter shareholders’ life difficult and paint a narrative that the company is falling into shambles without Dorsey.
Here’s a Business Insider article with details of their bromance, which is pretty incriminating in my opinion… Take it or leave it, but that is my conspiracy theory.
But yea, corollary to that, maybe this was all planned after all, and Elon is not having a mental breakdown, thank god.
War in Ukraine saves Boris from Partygate.
It is so funny how nonchalant British politicians can act in the face of misbehaviour. The quality of his foreign policy responses should have no impact on evaluations of his character, but I guess sentiment is sentiment.
Cathie Wood takes a swing at Twitter as well.
Cathie attacks Twitter’s use of ads for their revenue model, saying they should rethink. She suggested maybe it should be subscription? I think she is also just fucking with Twitter because what the fuck? A subscription model for Twitter? For a social media company? Bollocks.
At least beyond Twitter Blue, they’re gunna need to retain an ad model. I don’t have much faith in Twitter Blue, really don’t think people are going to pay to see citizen news they can easily access elsewhere as well. Like there are changes they should definitely make, but they should not be framed as only a “privilege” to have by hiding them behind a pay wall…
Oooooo… She may be another co-conspirator of Jack and Elon’s plot. Highly suspicious.
She sold 185,900 Twitter shares from SRKW on April 11, and said: “We had been cutting back on Twitter after Jack Dorsey handed over the reins.”
Cathie calling this ordeal “drama,” also makes me suspect she knows about the teaaa 🫖 & that there is far more beneath the surface.
On Leadership.
This is really interesting:
“For someone with a lot of power, Dorsey has been oddly averse to wielding it. Those who have worked under him at Twitter and Block say he doesn’t like making decisions and considers it a failure of leadership if he must. It’s not uncommon for Dorsey to go an entire meeting without saying more than a few words, and he prefers to leave employees with thought-provoking questions or abstractions instead of concrete directives.”

I really think Jack is a good person and am starting to grow a deeper affection towards him. Read the Bloomberg article, and you’ll understand why. He really reminds me a lot of myself and my core values. I aspire to be more like him.
